Easy Supplies To Start Filming YouTube Videos
Starting a YouTube channel can be very intimidating at first. As you watch so many of your favorites, you wonder “What camera are they using?”, “Where did she order her ring light?”, “His editing is amazing! What computer does he have?” As you research more and more, you realize that your favorite personalities on YouTube probably use very expensive and high quality equipment to get there videos to look as amazing as they do. But don’t fret.
I’ve got a few things you can purchase to make your content look just as great without breaking the bank.
iPHONE
The iPhone is the perfect camera to start out with if you can’t dish out the big bucks for a DSLR. iPhones record in HD so the resolution is crystal clear. They also have auto focus so you don’t have to worry about manually focusing when you move in and out of frame. You can also adjust your filming settings just as you can on any camera. The iPhone allows you to adjust the lighting and exposure and lock it in place. This way when you move or adjust your position while recording, the lighting will not change causing your video to go from light to dark and back again.
MINI RING LIGHT
I’m sure you’ve seen these while online shopping, in Instagram posts, and probably even in Walmart. The gag is…THEY ACTUALLY WORK. Amazingly I might add. Just because they’re small doesn’t mean they don’t pack a lot of power. The mini ring light has a enough range to light up your entire filming area. They’re especially great if you’re filming up close for a makeup tutorial, or a skincare routine.
CELL PHONE TRIPOD
You can only get away with propping your phone up on books, desks, and random hair products for so long. Eventually, it’s not going to cut it when you need that one perfect angle and your phone keeps falling off. So, you’re going to need to get a cell phone tripod. It’s the exact same thing as a regular tripod except instead of a screw for a camera, it has a clap to hold your phone. These are really effective and inexpensive. I ordered for from Amazon for less than $10.
iMOVIE
This goes back to the first item I mentioned to you. The iPhone has its own video editing software called iMovie. In iMovie, you can combine clips, split them, add music, sound effects and so much more. Best thing about it? It comes on your iPhone for free!
