Tips For Self Care During Quarantine
We’re going into week TWO of social isolation and our upbeat busy lives have come to GRINDING HALT. We’re not in the office, we’re not in the classroom and we aren’t even going out with our friends. At this point we can start to feel a little restless. When you go from doing ANY and EVERYTHING to nothing at all, it can make you struggle to find tasks to keep you occupied. So, I have a few things that you can do to keep you productive during your time at home.
1. Read a Book.
Thinking about the chaos that’s going on in the world can send you down a mental rabbit hole. Try reading a fiction novel, or a book on a skill or subject you’ve been wanting to learn about. Doing this will give you a great distraction from what’s been going on in the news and it could even teach you a few things.
2. Take a Bubble Bath.
Grab the bath bombs, bath salts, bluetooth speaker and candles. Turn on your most relaxing music, light your favorite scent, and run a nice, hot bubble bath. Baths help with muscle relaxation, helps lower your blood pressure, and helps to improve blood circulation. If that’s not self care, I don’t know what is.
3. Clean Out Your Closet.
Now is the PERFECT time to go through those tops that you love but never wear, those dresses that still have tags and those shoes that are spilling out of the closet. Go through your closet and sift through the items that you need, want and can donate or sell! The perfect app that you could use to sell clothes on is Poshmark!
4. Do a Face Mask.
You can’t have a self care day without some skincare! Grab your favorite cream, clay or sheet masks to pamper your skin and leave you feeling more refreshed.
5. Write Down Your Goals.
Grab a pen and jot down some ideas, plans and goals to focus on when you get back up and running. You aren’t going to be cooped up inside forever (even though it feels like it). It’s a good idea to have a game plan to crush some goals when the time comes.
6. Rearrange.
I’m sure by now you’re starting to get annoyed with looking at the same thing every day that you’re sitting at home. A great way to feel like you’re in a different space is to rearrange your furniture! Switch around your couches, your dressers, or your bed to refresh your living space.
